Releasing of the Turtles found living in Water and Gas ~May 12, 2013

Seven days ago Brett saved 3 Painted Turtles from a life destined for death. They were living in an area that someone tainted with either Oil or Gas. One Turtle was donated to a reputable place for rehab and eventual re-release into the wild. It was the one with only three legs.

See my first post for more details…

Brett, Zak and I released the Turtles who have become our friends for the last week in a safe swamp / pond area they are sure to love and the plus side is they are close to home for easy monitoring.

All in All it was a great day despite my attitude this morning, and the Shootings later this evening…no one was found shot as of yet…

Back to the release of the Turtles….Pics follow…

These ones were living in a pond that someone had dumped gas / oil into, they were so badly damaged and tainted as well. They were black, taking away their beautiful painted shell markings. They had a rainbow reflection when light hit them. They have since been cleaned and decontaminated as best as we could. Now living healthy and happy lives once again!!!!!
